Brian “Head” Welch, the dude who bailed on KORN in ’05 ’cause he found Jesus (or maybe Jesus found his stash, who knows?) and then crawled back eight years later, bless his heart 🙏, decided to grace us with his profound wisdom on social media earlier today, Sunday, November 2nd. Brace yourselves, folks, ’cause it’s a real doozy! He dropped a two-minute video titled “Religious people will pile guilt on you, I’ve seen it countless times… But Christ is different”. Oh, honey, buckle up. 🎢

In the clip, transcribed by the saints at BLABBERMOUTH.NET (because who else would?), Welch starts yapping about “religion versus relationship.” Apparently, religion is the big, bad bully that piles guilt on you and makes you feel like dirt, all to keep you under its thumb. Sounds like someone’s been watching too many bad movies. 🎬 He calls it a “cancer to spirituality,” which is pretty rich coming from a guy who used to, well, you know. 💊 Now, Christ, according to Head, is all about that heart-to-heart connection. It’s like, your heart is just vibing with Christ’s heart, man. ❤️ He leads you with kindness, acknowledges your flaws (probably ’cause he’s seen them all), and gently suggests you ditch the fun stuff in your life. But don’t worry, it’s not about being boring! It’s about getting rid of those pesky things so you can have a “healthier form of existence.” Whatever that means. 🤔

Welch continues, bless his cotton socks, that you don’t have to do it alone! Christ empowers you with his spirit to live a “better, healthier life.” That’s grace, folks! It’s like, divine steroids for your soul. 💪

“Religion is corrupting this world; it has been for countless centuries,” Brian declared with the authority of someone who once wore dreadlocks. 🤦‍♂️ “But there there is a lot of people waking up to the true fact of relationship, especially in the last, like, 20 years. I just see so many people latch on to the real, to the real.” The real what, Brian? The real sugar? The real housewives? Enquiring minds want to know! 🧐

“So, just my little two cents today. Hope you guys are having a good weekend.” Thanks, Head! We’ll try to enjoy it despite the existential dread you’ve just inflicted upon us. 😅

Back in April, someone actually asked Welch for advice. Can you believe it? 🤣 The Stand Up Dude podcast wanted to know what reminder he’d give young men to help them be the men they’re “created to be.” Deep stuff, I know. Welch, bless his heart, said, “Develop a relationship with Christ, one on one.” Because going to church and praying before bed just isn’t gonna cut it, people! Jesus wants you to talk to him, like, all the time. It’s a mystery, but you gotta chase those signs and wonders! Sounds exhausting. 😴

He added that church is just a “gas station” for your soul. You gotta read books, listen to podcasts, and consume all the information to help you grow. So basically, turn yourself into a Christian robot. Got it. 🤖

Welch then dropped this gem: opening your heart to God’s love is “transformative.” No duh, Sherlock! 🙄

“What’s God’s message in the Bible? It’s love. Love. Over and over — love, love, love,” he exclaimed. “And as guys, it’s hard for us, ’cause we think, when we find a woman, we love them, we date them, we hopefully marry them and we open our heart to ’em. It’s harder for sometimes guys, for the concept to open our heart to God. But we’ve gotta remember, Jesus, he walked the earth as a man, but he’s more than that. He’s the son of God where male and female came from God. He’s other than. So we just need to open our heart to learn how to receive his love as a God and give that love back to him.” So, men, stop being such tough guys and learn to love Jesus! It’s basically like dating, but with fewer awkward silences and more eternal salvation. 🙏

“When I came to the place where I was ready to open up my heart to God, I didn’t necessarily know as opening my heart, but I was begging for help because I was in such a dark place where I wanted my life to be over,” he continued. “I wanted to sleep and never wake up. And so I got to that place where I was, like, ‘Please, help me.’ And that opened my heart a little bit. And then once I started going to church, learning what the Bible was saying, that’s when I found out that God is love. It says God actually is love. Not that just God loves us, that he is love. So his very nature is love. And so being a tough guy or trying to portray a tough guy all the time with the heavy metal music and all that, I slowly, by the Holy Spirit’s help, started to learn to be able to open my heart. And then I wanted this love, because I did so many drugs and drank so much alcohol over the years that it was like I wanted to escape. And meeting God and learning that God is love, it started to fill that place, the empty place in me that the drugs and the alcohol were trying to fill. And so it was like — sometimes I describe it as the best high I ever felt. It was God’s love entering, when I opened my heart. And so it’s done spiritually.” So, God is basically a better drug than drugs. Got it! 💯

Welch, as we all know, bounced from KORN in ’05, claiming he kicked his drug and alcohol habits thanks to his newfound faith. Good for him, I guess. 🙄

Then, less than a month later, he rocked a white robe, grew a beard that would make ZZ Top jealous, and got baptized in the Jordan River. Because nothing says “I’m a changed man” like a photo op in the Holy Land. 📸 He even claimed he got a “divine message” to do it. Sure, Jan. 🙄

But wait, there’s more! In 2013, he slithered back to KORN. Because who needs consistency when you can have a comeback tour? 🎤

Ever since his “conversion” 20 years ago, Welch has been super open about how God changed his life and fixed his relationship with his daughter. Because apparently, God is a better therapist than actual therapists. 🤷‍♀️

Lately, Brian has been preaching that you don’t have to die to experience God. Apparently, you can have an encounter with the divine while you’re still alive. Mind blown! 🤯

Both Welch and KORN bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu have had these super public “conversion experiences” that everyone totally believes, right? Right? 😇
