Oh Joy Another Pirate Game Because We Didn't Have Enough Already Windrose Early Access Preview

Oh boy, are you guys in for a treat! 🎉 I’m reviewing Windrose, a game that’s all about being a pirate, but not just any pirate, a pirate who punches trees for hours on end 🌳💪. I mean, who needs sword fights and treasure hunts when you can spend your days gathering resources like a pixelated Minecraft character? 🤣

Okay, okay, I’ll stop trolling for a bit. So, Windrose is a survival/crafting game that lets you build your own pirate ship and crew, but with a twist – it’s got some serious Soulslike vibes 🕷️. Now, I know what you’re thinking, ” Soulslike” means it’s going to be hard, and oh boy, is it ever 🤯. The combat is so brutal, you’ll be begging for mercy (or a restart button) 🙏.

But, in all seriousness, Windrose has some great elements. The survival and crafting mechanics are actually pretty satisfying, and the building system is pretty intuitive 🏗️. I mean, who doesn’t love crafting their own pirate ship and decorating it with fancy sails and anchors? 🚣‍♀️ It’s like playing with a digital LEGO set, but with more plundering and pillaging 🏴‍☠️.

And then, there’s the combat. Oh, the combat 🤦‍♂️. It’s like the developers took all the worst parts of Dark Souls and mashed them together with some pirate-themed window dressing 🌊. The enemies are tough, the attacks are clunky, and the blocking system is about as useful as a barnacle on a sunken ship 🐚. But, hey, at least the naval combat is pretty fun, right? 🚢

Now, I know some of you are thinking, “But wait, isn’t this just a pirate-themed survival game?” And to that, I say, guilty as charged 🤷‍♂️. But, in all fairness, Windrose does have a solid foundation to build on (pun intended 🏗️). With some tweaks to the combat and maybe a few more pirate-themed shenanigans, this game could be a real contender for the pirate game crown 🏆.

And, as a proud Ninja (yes, that’s my title 🎉), I have to say that I’m a bit disappointed in the state of pirate games lately 🤕. I mean, what happened to the good old days of pirate games where you could just sword fight and plunder to your heart’s content? 🏹 Now, it’s all about punching trees and gathering resources like a bunch of landlubbers 🌳.

Anyway, Windrose is set to launch in Early Access on April 14th, 2026, so if you’re feeling brave (or just want to punch some trees), be sure to check it out 📆. And who knows, maybe with some adjustments, it’ll become the pirate game we’ve all been waiting for 🤞. But, until then, I’ll just be over here, punching trees and dreaming of a better pirate game 🌳💤. 😴👀

🚨 Update: If you’re looking for a good pirate game, I hear there are some great ones out there 🤔. Just don’t expect Windrose to be the one (yet) 🙅‍♂️. But hey, at least the screenshots look nice 📸. 🤳‍♂️
