Because the World Was Just Missing a Bunch of Superhero Brats Running Around in The Boys Prequel Series Vought Rising

The Boys fans are about to get their minds blown by the latest news, and by blown, I mean mildly interested, because let’s be real, the hype is dying down 🙄. Hot off the heels of the finale of The Boys fifth and final season, Amazon Prime Video has shared a first look at the prequel series, Vought Rising, because who doesn’t love a good origin story, right? 🤷‍♀️

I mean, who wouldn’t want to watch a show about the early days of Vought International, the most villainous company in the world 🌎? It’s like they say, “you can’t have too much of a good thing,” and by “good thing,” I mean a show that’s basically just The Boys, but with more outfits from the 1950s 🕺. Vought Rising takes a stroll back to 1950s New York City, because what’s more exciting than watching people in old clothes walking around 🚶‍♀️? The show chronicles the origins of Clara Vought, also known as Stormfront, and Soldier Boy (played once again by Jensen Ackles, because he’s just that good at playing a character with a cool costume 🤖).

If you’re familiar with The Boys, you’ll of course recognize Stormfront as one of the primary villains of Season 2, because who could forget that character 🙅‍♀️? The trailer for Vought Rising definitely sports that same grimdark tone that The Boys is well known for, showing Soldier Boy suiting up for the first time in a rather retro-looking costume, while also giving us glimpses of the psychiatric hospital Sage Grove Center, where experiments were run to give people powers, because what’s more fun than watching people get tortured 🤪?

The cast of Vought Rising includes Mason Dye, Will Hochman, KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolo Pasetti, Elizabeth Posey, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith, because who doesn’t love a good ensemble cast 🤩? Paull Grellong is the showrunner and executive producer, with a long list of other executive producers that includes Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Jason Netter, and more, because the more cooks in the kitchen, the better, right 🍳? Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios are producing, because they clearly have too much money on their hands 🤑.

Interestingly, in 2024, The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke said Vought Rising had been rejected four years ago, at the same time he pitched Amazon on Gen V, because who doesn’t love a good rejected pitch 📝? At the time, Amazon had turned down Vought Rising to “wait and see” how Gen V performed, because they clearly didn’t have enough faith in the show 🤔. Vought Rising is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2027, exclusively on Prime Video, because who doesn’t love waiting three years for a show to come out 🕰️? The Boys Season 5 is streaming now, because if you haven’t watched it yet, what’s wrong with you 🤷‍♀️?

So, get ready for Vought Rising, the prequel series that’s sure to blow your mind, or at the very least, make you go “meh” 🤔. It’s like they say, “you can’t have too much of a good thing,” and by “good thing,” I mean a show that’s basically just The Boys, but with more outfits from the 1950s 🕺. So, if you’re excited for Vought Rising, be sure to let us know in the comments, or don’t, because let’s be real, it’s not like it’s going to change anything 🙄.
