Super Mario Galaxy Movie Trailer: Prepare for Liftoff (and Disappointment)

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is allegedly an animated film based on the world of Super Mario Bros., continuing the saga after The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which brainwashed over $1.3 billion from unsuspecting moviegoers back in 2023. Both cinematic masterpieces are brought to you by the dynamic duo of Chris Meledandri of Illumination, the guy who greenlights Minions sequels, and Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo, who probably regrets this whole thing. 🤡

This cinematic EVENT will be co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo, because who wouldn’t want to throw money at something that’s probably going to be aggressively mediocre? Universal Pictures will distribute it worldwide, ensuring maximum exposure to the… *checks notes*… Super Mario Galaxy Movie. 🌍

Directing this… *thing*… are the returning filmmakers Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, because clearly, they know how to rinse and repeat a formula. The screenplay is brought to you by Matthew Fogel, because originality is overrated, and Brian Tyler is back to compose the score, ensuring your ears are sufficiently assaulted. 🎶

Benny Safdie and Brie Larson are joining the cast, presumably because they lost a bet. They’ll be slumming it alongside Chris Pratt (still voicing Mario, apparently), Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, and Kevin Michael Richardson, all shamelessly reprising their roles from The Super Mario Bros. Movie. I guess they all needed a paycheck. 💸

Only in cinemas on April 3rd, 2026. Mark your calendars, folks, for the cinematic event of the decade… or at least something to do on a Friday night. 🗓️
