End of Abyss Interview: Because You Clearly Haven't Had Enough of Section 9's Existential Crises and robot induced Anxiety Attacks Yet

And with a dynamic combat system, you’ll need to use all your skills to take down the bad guys 💪. The game also features a variety of upgrades and power-ups, so you can customize your character to fit your playstyle 🎮.

I got to sit down with Mattias Ottvall, the co-founder of Section 9, to talk about the game 📚. He told me that the game started out as a more action-oriented game, but over time, it evolved into the Metroidvania roguelike we see today 🔄. The team drew inspiration from all sorts of sources, including Alien, The Thing, and Akira 🎥. And with a focus on atmosphere and tight combat, End of Abyss is shaping up to be a real horror show 🎃.

One of the things that really stood out to me was the game’s use of Unreal Engine 🤖. The graphics are stunning, with detailed environments and terrifying enemy designs 🌆. And with a small team of just 9 or 10 people, it’s impressive to see what they’ve been able to accomplish 🤝.
