So, I’m sitting here with my coffee, reading about Michael Cohen and President Donald Trump supposedly burying the hatchet, and I’ve got to say, folks, this is a wild ride. Cohen, Trump’s former personal lawyer and fixer, testified against the president during his trial involving a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election. And let’s not forget, Trump called Cohen a “liar” at the time, pleaded not guilty to the charges of falsifying business records, and denied having an affair with Daniels. But now, it seems they’re all good? Yeah, right.
I mean, Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison over charges connected to that incident, including campaign finance violations. But now, he’s saying that he and Trump began to reconcile about half a year ago, and their relationship is “cordial and growing.” I’m not sure what’s more surprising, the fact that they’re talking again or that Cohen is sharing all the details on the “Cats & Cosby” show.
Apparently, it all started with an unexpected text from someone Cohen described as a “White House friend and an insider,” who relayed a message from the president. Cohen said the person expressed Trump’s “genuine empathy” for the hell he was being dragged through, and he appreciated that. Who knew Trump had a soft spot? Cohen even thanked him and expressed his hope that their long, exhausting feud could finally end. And, get this, Trump replied almost immediately, agreeing that it was time for them to meet.
Now, I’m not holding my breath for a Trump-Cohen reunion tour, but it seems they’re taking steps in that direction. Cohen said he hopes to return to the White House for a one-on-one visit in the next few weeks, and CNN has reached out to the White House for Trump’s side of the story. I’m sure it’ll be a totally normal and not-at-all-awkward meeting.
Cohen described the moment when the ice between them broke, saying, “We both knew the cost of this war.” Oh, drama! He also talked about experiencing a “media onslaught” from the “left,” which he said the president identified with. Because, you know, Trump is always the victim.
It all started with a post Cohen published on Substack in January, where he described feeling pressured and coerced by New York Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to provide information and testimony that would satisfy the government’s desire to build cases against Trump. And then, somehow, Trump’s intermediary reached out, and they started talking again. Who knows what really went down, but it’s certainly an interesting twist.
In conclusion, this whole Trump-Cohen saga is like a never-ending soap opera, and I’m here for it. I mean, who needs reality TV when you have real-life drama like this? So, stay tuned, folks, and let’s see what’s next for these two. Maybe they’ll even start a podcast together – “The Trump-Cohen Show” has a nice ring to it, don’t you think? 😂
