Oh boy, are you guys ready for some unexpected news? 😱 AVENGED SEVENFOLD just surprise dropped a new EP called “Statica” and I’m still trying to pick up the pieces of my shattered mind. I mean, who needs a warning when you can just blindside your fans with some robotic vocals and electronic dance beats, right? 🤖 The EP consists of four tracks: “Lights”, “Statica”, “Rejoice”, and “Ashes”, and it’s a whole 18 minutes and 7 seconds of… well, I’m not entirely sure what it is, but I’m sure it’s a wild ride.
The band’s latest album, “Life Is But A Dream…”, was released in 2023 and was a journey through an existential crisis, because who doesn’t love a good crisis, am I right? 🤷♂️ It was produced by Joe Barresi and AVENGED SEVENFOLD in Los Angeles and mixed by Andy Wallace in the Poconos, Pennsylvania. I’m sure the scenic views of the Poconos really added to the album’s themes of mortality and human existence. 🏞️
The Plot Thickens
But wait, there’s more! AVENGED SEVENFOLD and GOOD CHARLOTTE are teaming up for a North American tour this summer, because who doesn’t love a good ol’ fashioned rock show? 🤟 The 16-city trek will kick off on July 25 in Ridgedale, Missouri, and will make its way through various cities, including Shakopee, Chicago, and Phoenix. I’m sure the tour will be a blast, especially since M. Shadows’ vocal injury has healed and he’s ready to rock again. 🎤
You know, it’s not like the band has a history of postponing tours or anything… 🙄 Last September, they postponed their Latin American tour due to M. Shadows’ vocal injury, which was a real bummer for all the fans who were looking forward to it. 🎉 But hey, at least they’re making up for it now with this new EP and tour. 🎊
A Look Back
Let’s take a trip down memory lane and remember the good old days when AVENGED SEVENFOLD’s album “The Stage” debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart. 📈 Those were the days, my friends… or not. 🙄 The album’s surprise release earned the lowest sales of an AVENGED SEVENFOLD album in eleven years, but hey, who needs sales when you have artistic vision, right? 🎨
In a recent interview with the Nik Nocturnal Podcast, Zacky Vengeance talked about the band’s musical evolution leading up to “Life Is But A Dream…”. He said that they’ve always been huge fans of heavy music, but also love to incorporate other influences, like MR. BUNGLE and DAFT PUNK. 🤯 Because who doesn’t love a good mix of metal and electronic dance music? 🤷♂️
