Pokémon GO's Super Amazing Totally Not Overhyped Free Global Finale Is Finally Here And It's Bringing The Most Obvious And Not At All Rushed Mega Evolutions For The Legendary Pokémon You've Already Caught A Million Times

Pokémon GO is turning 10, and to celebrate, it’s pulling out all the stops – and by stops, I mean two new Mega Evolutions for Mewtwo, because who needs friends when you have Pokémon, right? 🎉👀 I mean, can you think of a better way to spend your time than walking around, staring at your phone, and catching virtual creatures? 🤣 It’s not like you have better things to do… like laundry or taxes. 😴

For those who have been living under a rock (or just don’t care about Pokémon), the game was released in 2016 and has been a wild ride ever since. 💥 Players get to be Pokémon Trainers, roaming around, catching wild Pokémon, battling in Gyms, and trying to catch ’em all (because who doesn’t love a good challenge, right? 🤔). And now, with the Grand Finale of Pokémon GO Fest: Global 2026, things are about to get even more lit! 🔥

The event, which runs from July 11 to July 12, will debut not one, but two Mega Evolutions for Mewtwo – because why settle for just one when you can have two, am I right? 🤑 It’s like the Pokémon GO team is saying, “Hey, we know you’ve been playing for 10 years, so here’s a little something to keep you entertained… and also to make you spend more money on in-game purchases.” 💸 And the best part? The event is completely free, so you can spend your money on other things… like a Pokémon GO Plus, perhaps? 📈

As part of the event, players will get access to Special Research, increased Shiny Pokémon encounter rates, and other goodies. 🎁 And, of course, there will be a Massive Mega Mewtwo Raid, because what’s a party without a big, scary Mewtwo, right? 🎂 Every Mewtwo caught from the raid will have at least one Mega Level unlocked, so you can Mega Evolve without using any energy – because who needs energy when you have Pokémon, am I right? 🤷‍♀️

But wait, there’s more! The Pokémon GO Fest: Global will also update the Mega System, allowing Trainers to power level their Mega-Evolved Pokémon without waiting for a daily progress cooldown. 🕒️ Because, you know, waiting is so last season. 🙄 And, for Pokémon with multiple Mega Evolutions, their level progression will be tracked per Mega Evolution, because who doesn’t love a good spreadsheet, right? 📊

Before the big event, there will be in-person events in Chicago, Copenhagen, and Tokyo, where Trainers can access Mewtwo with Level 1 unlocked for Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y. 🌎 Because, you know, the best way to experience Pokémon is in person, surrounded by other people who are also staring at their phones. 🤣

So, if you’re interested in learning more about the upcoming events or want to try the game out for yourself, check out the official Pokémon GO blog. 📄 But let’s be real, if you’re not already playing Pokémon GO, are you even living your best life? 🤷‍♀️👀👍
