Oh joy, oh rapture! The metal gods have spoken, and they’re sick of your phone-taking, video-recording, utterly-absent-from-the-moment nonsense π€¦ββοΈ! In a recent interview with Jaqueline Souza of Brazil’s Heavy Metal On Line, the one and only Udo Dirkschneider (formerly of ACCEPT and currently of U.D.O. and DIRKSCHNEIDER) shared his thoughts on the pesky phone problem π±. Apparently, some bands, like the almighty GHOST, have taken matters into their own hands and banned phones from their concerts π«. Udo thinks it’s “very interesting” and maybe, just maybe, it’s the push bands need to play really good and not, you know, totally embarrass themselves on YouTube π€£.
But, let’s get real, folks! π€·ββοΈ It’s not like Udo is losing sleep over it or anything. He’s all, “I don’t care about this” π ββοΈ. I mean, who needs to enjoy the show when you can watch it on your phone, right? πΉ It’s not like the band is there to perform live or anything πΈ. Meanwhile, IRON MAIDEN and TOOL are all, “Hey, put your phones away, folks!” π. Honestly, it’s about time someone told these phone-obsessed fans to put their devices away and actually experience the concert ποΈ.
In other news, Udo’s been busy working on the follow-up to U.D.O.’s “Touchdown” album, which is set to drop in early 2027 π. And, guess what? His former ACCEPT bandmate Peter Baltes is all in on the songwriting π€. They’re like two old buddies making music together again πΈ. Udo says it’s not like they’re trying to recreate the classic ACCEPT sound or anything π ββοΈ, but, you know, a little bit of that flavor is bound to sneak in π΄. The new album is going to be a “really straightforward” one, whatever that means π€.
So, there you have it, folks! π€ The metal legends are speaking out against phone abuse, and Udo’s got a new album cooking πΆ. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go practice my air guitar π€ and perfect my “I’m-a-cool-metal-fan” pose π. Don’t forget to put your phones away and actually enjoy the show ποΈ! And, who knows, you might just have a better time without your phone π₯. The metal gods are watching, and they’re judging you π.
Udo also talked about his band DIRKSCHNEIDER, which performs ACCEPT material exclusively π€©. Because, why not? π€·ββοΈ It’s not like he’s trying to relive his glory days or anything π. He initially said that his first DIRKSCHNEIDER tour would be his last time performing ACCEPT songs, but, you know, that was 11 years ago π ββοΈ. Now, he’s still rocking out to those classic tunes π€.
DIRKSCHNEIDER recently reimagined ACCEPT’s iconic album “Balls To The Wall” to celebrate its 40th anniversary π. Because, why not? π€·ββοΈ It’s not like they’re trying to cash in on nostalgia or anything πΈ. The band, which features Udo’s son Sven Dirkschneider on drums and the guitar duo of Alen Brentini and Fabian “Dee” Dammers, performed the LP in its entirety on recent tours πΈ. They’re like a big, happy metal family π€©.
Guitarist Wolf Hoffmann is the sole remaining original member of ACCEPT, which he formed in 1976 πΈ. Over the past five decades, ACCEPT has sold millions of albums and inspired countless musicians π€©. Their energetic live performances and iconic albums such as “Balls To The Wall”, “Restless And Wild”, and “Metal Heart” have left a lasting mark on the heavy metal genre π₯. So, put your phones away and go experience some real metal π€! πΈπ₯
