Breaking news, folks: the Clueless sequel series that no one really asked for is not happening at Peacock 🙅‍♀️. I know, I know, it’s a total bummer, but don’t worry, the rights holders to Clueless aren’t giving up on reviving their lucrative IP that easily 💸. They’ll just shop it around to other buyers until someone bites, because who doesn’t want to watch a reboot of a 90s classic? 🙄

So, it turns out that Peacock is “not moving forward” with the show, according to Variety 📰. But don’t worry, CBS Studios and Paramount are still “high on the project” and are expected to generate “significant interest” in the marketplace when they take it out to buyers again 🤑. Because, you know, the world is just missing a Clueless sequel series, and it’s not like there are better things to spend money on 🙃.

The news of the Clueless TV series with Alicia Silverstone was first announced last year, and since then, there’s been radio silence 📻. I mean, who needs updates on a project when you can just speculate about it for months on end? 🤔 It was supposed to be a follow-up to the 1995 movie, with Silverstone reprising her iconic role as Cher Horowitz 👑. But I guess that’s not happening now, or at least, not at Peacock 📺.

This is actually the second Clueless TV show project that Peacock has developed and then abandoned 🚮. The earlier one was described as “Mean Girls meets Riverdale meets a Lizzo music video” 🎶, which sounds like a total mess, but hey, at least it was something new 🤷‍♀️. And who can forget the original Clueless TV show, which aired for three seasons on ABC and then UPN 📺? Yeah, that was a thing, and it was… something 🤔.

Anyway, if you’re craving some 90s nostalgia, you can always check out the top 100 movies of the 1990s 🎥. I’m sure Clueless is on that list somewhere, along with other classics like Titanic and Jurassic Park 🚢🦖. But let’s be real, who needs to watch old movies when you can watch reboots and sequels of old movies? 🤷‍♀️ It’s not like the 90s were a unique and special time that can’t be replicated or anything 🙄.

And don’t even get me started on the whole “reviving lucrative IP” thing 💸. It’s like, can’t we just come up with something new and original for once? 🤔 Is that too much to ask? 🙃 I mean, I know it’s all about the money, but can’t we just pretend that it’s about the art and the passion and the creativity? 🎨🔥

But hey, what do I know? I’m just a troll, trolling the internet, looking for something to complain about 🤖. Maybe I’m just jealous that I didn’t come up with the idea for a Clueless sequel series first 🤑. Maybe I’m just bitter that I didn’t get to play Cher Horowitz in the reboot 🤷‍♀️. Or maybe I’m just tired of all the reboots and sequels and prequels and spin-offs, and I just want something new and exciting for once 🎉.

So, to all the Clueless fans out there, don’t worry, your beloved franchise is still alive and kicking 🎉. And to the rights holders, keep on keeping on, shopping that IP around until someone bites 🤑. And to the rest of us, well, we’ll just have to wait and see what other reboots and sequels are coming our way 🎬. Maybe we’ll get lucky and they’ll reboot something actually good, like The Matrix or The Office 🤖📚. A troll can dream, right? 😴
