Because You Clearly Need Another Classic Pop Fix Now

In the latest issue of Classic Pop, it’s like the music industry is throwing a big ol’ party and everyone’s invited, including the guest of honor, nostalgia. We’ve got a world exclusive interview with Stuart Price, the co-writer and co-producer of Madonna’s new album, Confessions II, because apparently, one Confessions album just wasn’t enough. And, of course, Natalie Imbruglia is back with a new album, Algorithm, because who doesn’t love a good comeback story? The Specials are also saying goodbye with a live album, because all good things must come to an end, but not before they release a few more deluxe editions, no doubt. And, as Eyes Open gets the 20th-anniversary deluxe edition treatment, Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody looks back on the album’s success, probably thinking, “Wow, time sure flies when you’re having fun… and re-releasing the same album over and over again.”

The Queen of Pop and Other Royalty

We’ve got the scoop on Madonna’s new album, and let’s just say it’s going to be a wild ride. Stuart Price takes us behind the scenes, and we can’t wait to hear all about it. And, speaking of royalty, Dionne Warwick is back with a star-studded duets album, because who doesn’t love a good collaboration? It’s like the music industry is one big happy family, except when they’re not, and then it’s all drama and reunions and farewell tours… but that’s a story for another time.

Deluxe Editions and Reunions

Because the music industry loves to give us more of what we want, even if we didn’t ask for it, we’ve got the 20th-anniversary deluxe edition of Eyes Open, complete with all the bells and whistles. And, A Flock Of Seagulls’ debut album gets the classic album treatment, because why not? It’s not like we haven’t heard it all before, but hey, nostalgia is a powerful thing. Somewhere, a record label executive felt a disturbance in the royalties, and suddenly, another deluxe edition has appeared. The remaster economy remains undefeated, folks.

Album By Album and Other Features

We’re putting Lionel Richie’s entire back catalogue under the microscope, because why not? It’s not like we have anything better to do. And, we’re revisiting Red Box’s The Circle & The Square, because it’s about time someone did. Music historians are preparing fresh shelves for the box set, and a vinyl pressing plant somewhere just burst into tears, thinking about all the extra work they’re going to have to do.

Reviews and Live Shows

We’ve got a packed reviews section, with new albums from The Specials, The Rolling Stones, Adam Lambert, and many more. And, we’re checking out live shows from Boyzone and 80s Classical, because who doesn’t love a good live performance? The farewell tour count has officially entered scientific notation, but hey, that’s just the way the music industry rolls. Nobody truly retires in this industry; they merely wait for the 40th-anniversary edition. Nature is healing, and another deluxe edition has appeared. It’s a never-ending cycle, folks, but hey, at least it’s entertaining.
