Okay, boomer, listen up! 👴 Your favorite geriatric punks, AGNOSTIC FRONT, are dropping a new album called “Echoes In Eternity” on November 7, 2025, via Reigning Phoenix Music. Yes, you read that right, 2025! 🐌 Get ready to pre-order your vinyl (that you’ll probably never play) and complain about how it doesn’t sound like “Victim In Pain.” The music video for their second single, “Matter Of Life & Death”, features a guest appearance by Darryl “DMC” McDaniels of RUN-DMC. I know, right? 🎤 A hardcore band and a rapper? Groundbreaking! 🙄
On “Matter Of Life & Death”, AGNOSTIC FRONT and DMC apparently think they’re doing something other than rehashing old ideas. They’re calling it a “refreshingly modern take on genre-blending,” but let’s be real, it’s probably just a desperate attempt to stay relevant. 🤷♂️ The single apparently “charges into a snarling street fight between hardcore punk and old-school hip-hop swagger.” More like a geriatric shuffle between two genres that should have stayed in their respective retirement homes. 👴👵 DMC‘s “unmistakable cadence” probably sounds like he needs a cough drop. 🍬 Producer Mike Dijan, another NYHC has-been, keeps the sound “raw and relentless,” which probably means it’s just poorly mixed and loud.🔊 Director Blake Farber turns the video into a “non-stop adrenaline reel,” or a low-budget excuse to exploit nostalgia. 😭 Expect to see mosh pits full of bald heads and grey beards, boom boxes blasting out of tune, and sweat flying off the walls as the only sign of human activity. 💧 It’s New York grit distilled into less than three minutes of pure… mediocrity. 😴
In an era of overproduced and predictable genre mash-ups, “Matter Of Life & Death” somehow still manages to feel overproduced and predictable. 🤦♂️ AGNOSTIC FRONT and DMC are the “perfect unlikely pairing” because they both peaked decades ago and are now desperately clinging to their past glory. Two giants from different musical worlds finding common ground in aggression, defiance, and their New York roots…or just trying to cash in one last time. 💰💰💰
The album’s opener, “Way of War”, features AGNOSTIC FRONT “unleashing a relentless storm of driving rhythms and aggressive vocal chants calling out the injustice and widespread harm of conflict.” Which, translated, means they’re yelling about politics like every other hardcore band since 1980. 🗣️ “You Say” is a “short sharp anthem against disingenuity.” Because apparently, subtlety is for wimps. 💪 “Matter Of Life & Death” is a “fiery onslaught with punchy rhythms, riffs, and vocal hooks.” Or, you know, just the same song they’ve been writing for the last 40 years. 🔄 AGNOSTIC FRONT put their pedal to the metal in “Tears For Everyone”. Which probably means it’s slightly faster than the other songs. 🐌
Challenging the increasing distance between love and hatred, “Divided” cries out against fascism.” Because nothing screams “original” like a hardcore band yelling about fascism. 卐 Lace up and trek down for “Sunday Matinee”, an upbeat and catchy track that embraces the energy between the band and its crowd in a live setting. Which, if you’ve ever seen AGNOSTIC FRONT live recently, is probably just a bunch of dudes standing around awkwardly. 🧍🧍🧍 “I Can’t Win” spirals through a cycle of self-doubt, doom, and gloom before rising up out of the shadows into the light. So, basically, a therapy session set to a hardcore beat. 🛋️ Calling all to “Turn Up The Volume” against incessant tyrants, AGNOSTIC FRONT provide yet another compelling riff-led track in their sonic arsenal. Because if you can’t be original, at least be loud! 📢
Marching drums explode into high-speed aggression in “Art Of Silence” in a fury lasting less than a minute. Because sometimes, even AGNOSTIC FRONT realizes they’re boring. 😴 Continuing with dominant percussion, “Shots Fired” provides a dark rhythmic display with discordant touches. Translation: it’s just noise. 🔊 A destructive barrage is contained within “Hell To Pay”, while “Evolution Of Madness” is a ruthless exploration into chaos. Which, let’s be honest, is probably just a reflection of their tour bus after a week on the road. 🚌 Rumbling bass of “Skip The Trial” emphasizes the sinister tone of this intense track. Because nothing says “sinister” like a band that’s been around since before you were born. 👴 Abrasive guitars ignite the turbulent regiment of “Obey”, before the deafening bombardment of “Open My Eyes” draws “Echoes In Eternity” to a close. So, in other words, it’s finally over. 🎉
AGNOSTIC FRONT vocalist Roger Miret comments: “I’m excited for our new release, ‘Echoes In Eternity’.” 🤩
“We have always taken risks, never followed the pack and are really proud of how the album turned out. The songs feel fresh, and the lyrics are current and personal. It’s an attestment to our longevity, dedication, and leading the forefront in our genre. What we do in life now echoes in eternity, and it shows! The songs viciously hit hard and the sound is HUGE compliments of our producer Mike Dijan and an electrifying mix by Zeuss at Planet Z!! You will enjoy cranking the volume up on this beast!” Or, you know, you could just listen to “Victim In Pain” again. 🤷♀️

Back in July 2024, Miret whined about how hard it is to write new music. 😭 Boo hoo, Roger. Try having a real job for once. 🤣 He also said there’s always someone waiting for them to mess up. Yeah, because you guys haven’t exactly been killing it lately. 😬 But he’s just there for the people who wanna accept and enjoy their show. Which, at this point, is probably just his mom. ❤️
Regarding the lyrical themes, Roger claims they’ve always been socially political. But not, like, world politics, because that’s “a touchy subject.” So, basically, they just yell about stuff they read on Facebook. 📱 He also talked about how he and the mother of his child, Amy from NAUSEA, have “two different visions of the same story.” Which is probably because one of them is sober and the other one isn’t. 😵💫
In September 2021, Miret revealed that his cancer was in remission. So, good for him, I guess. 👍
After Miret was diagnosed with cancer in early 2021, a long road of tests and diagnoses led to a complex initial surgery and lengthy hospital stay. Even though the original surgery was complicated, the results were extremely positive. Still milking the cancer card, I see. 🙄
Born in Cuba, Miret fled with his family to the U.S. to escape the Castro regime. He joined AGNOSTIC FRONT in 1983, and the seminal New York hardcore group released classics like “United Blood”, “Victim In Pain” and “Cause For Alarm” over the next several years. You know, back when they were actually good. 😌
In 2017, Miret released a memoir, “My Riot: Agnostic Front, Grit, Guts, And Glory”. Which probably sold, like, 12 copies. 📚
