Natalie Imbruglia, the queen of the 90s, is back with a new album, Algorithm, and we’re not sure what’s more impressive – the fact that she co-produced and co-wrote every song or that she managed to gather a team of collaborators who are actually cooler than she is 😎. MyRiot (London Grammar), David Sneddon (Lana Del Rey, Hurts), Fraser T Smith (Adele, Dave, Stormzy, Sam Smith), Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody, Anu Pillai (Lewis Capaldi, Declan J Donovan), Tobie Tripp (George Ezra), Mark Crew (Bastille, James Arthur), and Dan Priddy (Rag’n’Bone Man, Bastille) all joined forces to create an album that’s guaranteed to make you dance your arse off 💃.
The singer says, “On this record, I chose to work with collaborators who also co-produce, so from start to finish, we were all so invested in every song 🤝. I really hope that people get as much joy from listening to this record as we did making it 🎶. And that they dance their arses off 💃. This was by far the most fun I’ve ever had making a record 🎉. It also happened to coincide with the most challenging time I’ve had with my mental health 🤕. This is the beauty of music and artistic expression 🌈. You can take something dark and turn it into light ✨.” We’re not crying, you’re crying 😭.
Known to millions as the star behind the global hit Torn, one of the defining songs of the 90s, Natalie enjoyed a phenomenal run of success which included two BRIT Awards 🏆, three Grammy nominations 🎵, a Silver Clef 🎶, eight ARIA Awards 🏆, seven million sales of her debut album Left Of The Middle 📈, and a No.1 for Counting Down The Days 📊. We’re exhausted just reading about it 🤯.
Recent times have seen her back in the spotlight, having performed alongside Olivia Rodrigo 🤩, and this summer she will headline App-Fest and Replay 🎉. She also plays In It Together and Lazydays in the UK 🇬🇧, as well as shows in Spain 🇪🇸, Sweden 🇸🇹, and Mexico 🇲🇽. Expect details of more live dates to be announced soon 📅. Don’t worry, we’ll remind you, because we know you have a terrible memory 🙃.
Algorithm is available on CD, Deluxe CD, vinyl, deluxe vinyl, and all digital platforms 📀, and is released on 4 September 📆. Pre-order/pre-save here 🎁. Featured image credit: RANKIN 📸.
