Oh look, Hello Kitty Island Adventure is getting another DLC! Because apparently, one adorable island paradise wasn’t enough for our Sanrio-obsessed overlords. Prepare your credit cards and your tolerance for overwhelming cuteness—City Town is coming April 16, 2026, and it’s about to flood your screen with more pastel colors than a unicorn’s rainbow vomit. 🌈✨

Bigger dreams, bigger adventures, and brighter lights. Sunblink and Sanrio announced new details for the second DLC for the critically acclaimed cozy life sim Hello Kitty Island Adventure—City Town. The DLC features a new region, a new cafe, seven new shops, and the introduction of USAHANA and friends. The new trailer offers a quick glimpse of the upcoming DLC, along with the release date and platforms.

“City Town is a rainbow metropolis teaming with mystery,” the Hello Kitty Island Adventure announcement wrote. Players can set up the seven new shops with fan-favourite Sanrio characters: Kuromi, My Sweet Potato, and Tuxedosam. This also includes the newest major friend, USAHANA, who unlocks the customizable Imagination Cafe. USAHANA is a cheerful soul who is always excited to show everyone around City Town, make new friends, and lend players a hand in renovating cafes. USAHANA comes with 35 friendship levels, full of rewards and benefits to claim.

With a new region opening up in the game, that means there are a bunch more activities and cool places to check out. City Town is made of towering skylines, adorable critters, and delicious foods to discover. With 30+ hours of adventure and over 90+ quests, there’s plenty to uncover both above (and beneath) the city! The possibilities are almost endless.

One of the cool new shops is the Imagination Cafe. Players can design and customize their very own Imagination Cafe. Within the shop, create endless combinations of adorable treats like mochi, dango, and boba tea to delight all the Sanrio friends. Helping the Sanrio crew expand City Town is one of the main objectives, opening new establishments like a plushie boutique, blooming orchards and a fun-filled arcade.

But players do not have to do it all alone. Hello Kitty Island Adventure‘s second DLC invites new, adorable friends for some help. USAHANA’s adorable friends Pannya-chan, Buppyu-kun, Wanwa-chan, Sora-kun and Nyako-chan will all need to be taken care of in the Rainbow Tower. Players can prepare cozy apartments for these new friends, as well. The announcement stated to “keep an eye out for a mysterious cameo guest.”

Hello Kitty Island Adventure has pioneered the “cozy adventure” genre, offering relaxed, comforting activities like crafting and decorating within a large explorable world of quests, platforming, puzzle-solving, and other adventure game genre aspects. The title has garnered massive critical acclaim, earning Apple Arcade Game of the Year and a Webby People’s Voice award, plus nominations for Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards 2023 and Mobile Game of the Year at the 27th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards.

The time to return to Hello Kitty Island Adventure will be coming soon. Finish up the Wheatflour Wonderland DLC, and begin for some more new content. City Town will be available on April 16 on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch – OLED Model, Nintendo Switch Lite, PlayStation 5, PC (Steam), and on Apple Arcade.
