Nintendo Unleashes September 2026 Deluge of Remakes and Dollar Signs

introduction

Nintendo Direct was back with a vengeance this week, showering us with a plethora of announcements that will keep our Switch 2 consoles busy for months to come. Because, you know, we didn’t have enough games to play already. The latest Direct was a masterclass in stretching the definition of “Direct” – it was more like a never-ending marathon of trailers and announcements that left me questioning my life choices.

It all started with a brand new trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, because who doesn’t love a good hunt? The best part? Local co-op is coming, so you can now team up with your friends and family to take down those pesky monsters in person. The base game is scheduled to launch on December 4, with the Ascendance DLC following later in 2027. I’m sure it’ll be a blast, but I’m still waiting for the “Monster Hunter: Couch Edition” where we can all just hunt from the comfort of our own homes.
