Toronto Game Expo 2025: Prepare for Disappointment, Local Gamers/Cosplayers

Oh, honey, the Toronto Game Expo 2025 is back for its fall edition, and guess what? They couldn’t even keep the party in the same building 🙄. Apparently, the Queen Elizabeth Building wasn’t boujee enough, so they downgraded to the Better Living Centre. Same place, just… less fabulous. Get ready for the same special offerings they always offer, which aren’t really that special, let’s be real. #TorontoGameExpo #SettleDown #SameOld

Mark your calendars, folks, because the second Toronto Game Expo of 2025 is gracing us with its presence next weekend, November 22nd and 23rd. Yes, a whole weekend dedicated to… this. 🗓️ Brace yourselves for over 600 exhibitor tables, because who doesn’t love navigating a crowded space filled with overpriced trinkets? 🛍️ Cosplay guests and events will also be present, so get ready to see some questionable superhero interpretations and maybe even a wardrobe malfunction or two. 😂 Pixel Paradise, the “free-play arcade and console area,” will probably just be filled with sweaty teenagers hogging the machines.🕹️ Don’t forget the tournaments where you can watch grown adults get way too intense about Super Smash Bros. 🏆 Oh, and there’s an indie developers showcase, because every expo needs a token offering to make it seem “diverse.” 🎭

But wait, there’s more! ✨ This edition’s celebrity guests include Nicholas Picholas, the nostalgia bait from Video & Arcade Top 10. I mean, who even remembers that show? 👴 Alicyn Packard, a voice actor from games like Monster Hunter Wilds and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. She’s probably very talented, but let’s be honest, most people only recognize the characters, not the voices behind them. 🎤 Then there’s Michael Benyaer, best known as Bob in Reboot. 🤖 Yes, that show from the 90’s. Are we sure this isn’t a retro gaming convention? And finally, Paul Castro Jr., who voices Freminet in Genshin Impact. 🌟 Because what’s a gaming expo without some gacha game representation? Each of these B-list celebrities will have dedicated panels because we all need to know what their favorite flavor of Mountain Dew is, right? 🥤

Just like the March edition (because one expo per year clearly isn’t enough), the Toronto Game Expo in November is giving you another chance to waste your time on various games and watch people who take themselves way too seriously compete in tournaments. Scheduled events include the legendary Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and the even more legendary Super Smash Bros. Melee. 🎮 Prepare to witness some button-mashing madness! And because we’re really scraping the barrel here, there will be a Ms. Pac-Man points challenge and a Duck Hunt points challenge. 🦆 Yes, you read that right. Get ready to dust off your NES skills! To cap off each day of gaming glory, there will be an end-of-day raffle draw where you have a slim chance of winning something cool… or more likely, some promotional swag you’ll toss in the trash on the way home. 🗑️ They’re also hosting special panels and workshops to help you “find your voice” as a gaming content creator. Because the internet needs more people yelling at their webcams, right? 🗣️

The Toronto Game Expo 2025 fall edition will also feature cosplay talent from the likes of Toronto Peter Quill, Binrad, Reed & Niamh, Eclipse Cosplay, and Banshee Queen Cosplay. 🎉 These cosplayers all bring high expertise and skills to their cosplays, covering characters within worlds such as Batman, Kingdom Hearts, and World of Warcraft. So if you want to see someone in a poorly-made Batman suit or a vaguely recognizable Sora, this is the place to be! 🦇 Attendees cosplayers are encouraged to check out the Cosplay Meetup Space for specific meetups/photoshoots, where cosplays are related to the HoYoverse games, Final Fantasy, My Hero Academia, One Piece and more themes. 🤝 Get ready for awkward poses and blurry photos!

While visitors can meet these cosplay “legends”, they can also learn to become one themselves! 🎓 Workshop Area A and B will host a myriad of workshops to level up your cosplay skills in various ways, such as cosplay makeup, 3D printing, and leather tooling. 💄🖨️ Because nothing says “expert cosplayer” like a hastily 3D-printed prop. The Toronto Game Expo is also a “great networking space” to meet fellow creators and hone your cosplay skills and builds. 🤝 Do not forget to check out the Artist Alley and Exhibitor booths to buy all kinds of local merch and artwork! 🎨💸 Get ready to spend all your money on overpriced keychains and fan art! ✨

Tickets are still available on the official website, because of course they are. 🎫 Single-day passes cost $32 on Saturday and $28 on Sunday. What a bargain. If you’re feeling extra boujee (or just really bad with money), you can splurge on a Super VIP Weekend Pass for a whopping $200. 🤑 For those looking for some extra social awkwardness, the Toronto Game Expo Cafe Social: Game Devs is a fantastic opportunity to take advantage of! ☕ It’s a pop-up social event where you can network with other indie game developers and game professionals. Translation: stand around awkwardly while trying to avoid eye contact. 👀 This “special access” event has a $15 cover charge on top of the Sunday access cost. Because why not squeeze every last penny out of you? 💰 Celebrate gaming in November at the Toronto Game Expo 2025 fall edition! Or, you know, stay home and play video games in your pajamas. Your choice. 🤷‍♀️

Pixel P. Snarkbyte, widely regarded as the “Shakespeare of Sh*tposts,” is a video game expert with a unique knack for turning pixels into punchlines.

Born in the small town of Respawn, Pennsylvania, Pixel grew up mashing buttons on an ancient NES controller, firmly believing that “blowing into the cartridge” was a sacred ritual passed down through generations.
